The Faces of Refine Fitness

Meet Gabriella, Founder & Owner

Fitness has always been an important part of my life, but it wasn't until recently that I turned my passion into a career dedicated to helping other women become stronger, healthier, and more confident.


I'm a wife to a very supportive husband and a mother of two amazing boys. Like many women, I understand the challenge of balancing family, work, and personal well-being. That's one of the reasons I created Refine Fitness—to provide a welcoming space where women can prioritize their health without spending hours in the gym.


My fitness journey began with running. Over the years, I competed in numerous races, including several half marathons and the 2008 ING New York City Marathon. In 2009, I qualified to run the marathon again, but an arthritis flare-up just weeks before race day forced me to step away from long-distance running. While disappointing at the time, it led me to discover the benefits of strength training, mobility work, and cross-training.


Since then, I've completed a Spartan Trifecta, a Terrain Race, Hyrox, and countless local 5Ks and trail runs while continuing to explore different approaches to fitness and healthy aging.


Today, I specialize in helping women navigate the challenges of perimenopause and menopause through effective, science-based fitness programs. My focus is on helping women build strength, improve mobility and balance, support heart health, and maintain the ability to confidently perform everyday activities for years to come.


Most importantly, I want women to know that it's never too late to start. Whether you're beginning your fitness journey, returning after years away from exercise, or looking for a program designed specifically for your changing body, my goal is to help you find success in a supportive and encouraging community.


I'm excited to share my love of fitness with others and help women discover just how strong and capable they truly are.

Mayra (Luna) Perez

Originally from Ecuador, I moved to the United States in search of new opportunities and a better future. Along the way, I worked as a nanny and waitress—roles I cared about, but that also left me feeling ready for something more.


My fitness journey began in 2020 when I started at over 200 lbs. That’s when I discovered a strength I didn’t know I had—both physically and mentally. Running became a turning point for me, teaching me how to push through discomfort, stay consistent, and keep going even when things felt difficult.


Through training, I’ve learned resilience and determination, and I now challenge myself to do things I once thought were impossible. My mission is to inspire others, share what I’ve learned, and help people reach their own fitness goals—no matter where they’re starting from.
